Compensation: Total compensation for this position will be between $80,000 - $110,000 (depending on experience)

Position Overview


We’re looking for an energetic and mission-driven leader to bring our cooperative’s accounting and broader finance function in-house. The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the overall general accounting function. This person will implement and maintain accounting systems, procedures, and policies. This position ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and acts as liaison between the company, government, vendors/subcontractors, and auditors in providing required information and ensuring proper information is maintained.

Key Responsibilities


  • Perform all basic accounting procedures, including A/R, A/P, P/R, G/L, and tax payments
  • Monitor and review records of assets, liabilities, and financial transactions
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management, the board of directors and members
  • Serve as liaison with third parties on financial statement review, audits and tax returns; 
  • Process payroll and employee benefits
  • Advise management on decisions related to company’s finances
  • Evaluate and assess tradeoffs between accounting platforms and manage implementation of any software transition
  • Coordinate with granting agencies, prepare and submit required materials to ensure compliance with existing and future awards
  • Establish financial controls and policies

Qualifications


Successful candidates will have the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field
  • CPA or MBA a plus
  • 5-10 years of accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and fluency in accounting software
  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles including application of general accounting theory
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
